Applications for the the 2019 L’Oréal USA For Women in Science fellowship program are now open and will close on Friday, February 1, 2019. This is a great fellowship opportunity for female postdocs!

The L’Oréal USA For Women in Science fellowship program honors female scientists at a critical stage in their careers with grants of $60,000 each. Since 2003, we’ve awarded 75 postdoctoral women scientists nearly $4 million in grants. We’re seeking five exceptional female scientists looking to advance their research and serve as role models for the next generation of girls in STEM.

Candidates are selected from a variety of fields including the life and physical/material sciences, technology (including computer science), engineering, and mathematics. Candidates must have completed their PhD and have started in their postdoctoral position by the application deadline.

The UCLA chapter of the Edward A. Bouchet Honor Society (Bouchet Society) is now accepting applications. The Bouchet Society seeks to develop a network of preeminent scholars who exemplify academic and personal excellence, foster environments of support and serve as examples of scholarship, leadership, character, service and advocacy for students who have been traditionally underrepresented in the academy.

Postdoctoral Membership is available to any individual who has received their PhD degree over the last 6 years, and through initial research achievement in a humanities, social science, or science field, has shown outstanding promise as a scholar.

Free weekly mindfulness sessions for post-docs!

Beginning Wednesday, November 7th, 2018 from 6-7pm we will offer weekly drop-in sessions for UCLA postdoctoral scholars led by Dr. Andrea Brard in the RISE space. These sessions are aimed at supporting the wellness of UCLA postdoctoral scholars seeking to learn more about mindfulness, how to cultivate a mindfulness practice, and how mindfulness can be useful in daily life.

Light refreshments provided. No prior mindfulness experience necessary.
